Open Invitation, Scotland Tour 2024

25 – 28 June
Aberdeenshire

Recent Golf invites you to join us for a grand tour of Aberdeenshire, with three rounds of world-class golf at Murcar, Royal Aberdeen and Cruden Bay.

The week will kick off with a welcome dinner at our base, a converted barn in Kirkton of Skene, ahead of three days of golf on three incredible courses.

Day one – Murcar Links

On day one we play Murcar, on the edge of Aberdeen, located on a classic stretch of links land with huge sand dunes, crumpled fairways, whins, burns and heather. It is not long, 6516 yards Par 71 from the back tees, but it asks serious questions of any golfer and when the wind blows can pose a real challenge.

Day two – Royal Aberdeen

Day two sees us at the neighbouring Royal Aberdeen. One of Scotland’s finest courses it has hosted the Scottish Open and the Walker Cup, it is a traditional out and back links running along the coast and the front nine are considered amongst the finest in golf. The back nine takes you to higher ground with stunning views of the North Sea. Tom Watson has won here, as has Justin Rose, and your game will have to be sharp as a tack to get round this course in one piece.

Day three – Cruden Bay Golf Club

Day three takes us to Cruden Bay, a masterpiece of links golf set in the most thrilling position against the backdrop of the North Sea. Famous for its variety of holes, its quirks and thrills. Elevated tees cut high into the dunes; bumped, humped and hollowed fairways; punchbowl greens nestled in attractive dells. This is links golf as experience and inspiration and will provide a thrilling finale to our trip.
