Privacy Policy
We only collect what we need to run our trips, events and shop, and we treat it with care. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what rights you have.
1. Controller
Recent Golf GbR, Niemetzstr. 47/49, 12055 Berlin, Germany, phone +49 1514 0365389, email connect@recent.golf. We have not appointed a data protection officer, as we are not required to.
2. Hosting
Our website is hosted by IONOS SE, Elgendorfer Str. 57, 56410 Montabaur, Germany. When you visit the site, the server automatically stores technical data in log files: IP address, date and time, page visited, browser and operating system. We need this to deliver the site and keep it secure (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). Log files are deleted after a short time, unless we need them to investigate a security incident. We have a data processing agreement with IONOS (Art. 28 GDPR).
3. Cookies
We only use cookies that are technically necessary to run the site and the shop, for example for your shopping cart and for secure payment through Stripe and PayPal (§ 25 (2) TDDDG, Art. 6 (1) (b) and (f) GDPR). We don't use tracking or advertising cookies.
4. Fonts
Our fonts are stored on our own server. No connection to Google servers is made.
5. Newsletter and waiting list
If you sign up for our newsletter or our waiting list, we use MailerLite Limited, 88 Harcourt Street, Dublin 2, D02 DK18, Ireland, which also provides the sign-up form. Sign-up uses double opt-in: we only send you emails after you confirm by clicking a link. For the newsletter, we store your email address, the time of sign-up and confirmation, and statistics on whether newsletters are opened and links clicked. For the waiting list, we also store the details you give us, such as your name, location, home club, handicap range and website or Instagram, so we can get to know you before we send invitations. Legal basis is your consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR). You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in every email, or ask us to delete your details by writing to connect@recent.golf. We have a data processing agreement with MailerLite.
6. Bookings and orders
When you book or order, we process your name, email address, phone number, billing and delivery address and the details of your booking or order. We need this to fulfil the contract (Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR). We keep invoices and booking records for as long as commercial and tax law require, up to ten years.
7. Payment
Payments are processed by Stripe Payments Europe, Limited, One Wilton Park, Wilton Place, Dublin 2, D02 FX04, Ireland, and PayPal (Europe) S.à r.l. et Cie, S.C.A., 22-24 Boulevard Royal, L-2449 Luxembourg. They receive the data needed for the payment and may run fraud checks. They act as independent controllers under their own privacy policies. Where they transfer data to the US, this is based on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or EU standard contractual clauses.
8. Shipping
For shop orders, we pass your name and delivery address to DHL Paket GmbH or Deutsche Post AG, both Charles-de-Gaulle-Str. 20, 53113 Bonn, Germany (Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR). We don’t pass on your email address to them.
9. Trips and events
For trips and events, we ask about dietary needs and allergies. Information on allergies is health data. We only process it with your explicit consent (Art. 9 (2) (a) GDPR), share it only with the houses, restaurants and caterers that cook for you, and delete it after the trip or event.
For each trip, we create a WhatsApp group so guests can stay in touch. Your name and phone number are visible to the other members. We only add you if you agree (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR). WhatsApp is a service of Meta.
10. Photos and film
During trips and events, we take photos and videos and publish them on our website, on Instagram and in our newsletter. Legal basis is our legitimate interest in documenting and presenting our trips and events (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). You can object at any time (Art. 21 GDPR) by telling us on site or writing to connect@recent.golf. We will then not show you in new content and remove you from existing content where possible. We only use images in which you are individually featured for partner content with your separate consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR).
11. Contact
If you write to us, we use your message and contact details to reply (Art. 6 (1) (b) or (f) GDPR) and delete them when they are no longer needed.
12. Your rights
You have the right to access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21). You can withdraw any consent at any time (Art. 7 (3)). You can also complain to a supervisory authority, for us the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information. Just write to connect@recent.golf.
13. Status
