Terms and Conditions
Recent Golf is a small, independent team. Our main goal is simple: that everyone on our trips and events has a good time. To make that happen, we book courses, houses and dinners well in advance. These terms explain how booking works and what you can expect from us. We kept them short and fair.
Part A: General
A1. Who you book with
You book with Recent Golf GbR, Niemetzstr. 47/49, 12055 Berlin, Germany. These terms cover our trips, events and shop.
A2. Language
Everything happens in English. After booking, we send you all details by email, and these terms stay available here.
A3. By invitation
Our trips and events are by invitation, so please don't share your booking link. Your booking is confirmed once you receive our confirmation email. We may decline a booking without giving reasons. In that case, you get every payment back.
A4. Prices and payment
Prices are in euros. Events and shop products include German VAT. Trips are invoiced under the margin scheme for travel services (§ 25 UStG), so the invoice shows no VAT. You'll find the available payment methods at checkout.
A5. Photos and film
Documenting our trips and events is part of what we do. We photograph and film during the programme and share the results on our website, on Instagram and in our newsletter. If you would rather not appear, just tell us before or during the trip, or write to connect@recent.golf at any time. We will then not show you in new content and remove you from existing content where possible.
You are welcome to create your own content. Please ask the people around you before you post them.
A6. Being part of the group
Our trips and events are only as good as the people on them, and we trust everyone to look after the group. If someone seriously or repeatedly spoils the experience for others, we may ask them to leave, without a refund. Guests are liable for any damage they cause to venues, houses or other people's things.
A7. Our liability
We take responsibility for what we do. We are fully liable for damage we cause intentionally or through gross negligence, and for any injury to life, body or health we cause through our own fault. For minor mistakes, we are only liable if we breach a core obligation of our contract with you, and only for the damage that typically comes with it. Golf and other activities involve physical effort, so please judge for yourself what feels right for you. Courses, hotels and restaurants have their own house rules, which also apply to you as our guest.
A8. The legal bit
German law applies. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory law where you live. If any part of these terms turns out to be invalid, the rest still applies.
Part B: Trips
We plan each trip months ahead, and most costs can't be recovered once booked. The rules below keep things fair for everyone, including the people you travel with.
B1. Securing your place
A deposit of €500 per person secures your place, whether solo or shared. It counts toward the total price. It isn't refundable, but you can transfer it (see B6).
B2. The rest
The remaining amount is due six weeks before arrival, and we'll remind you in good time. If it still hasn't arrived after two reminders, we may give your place to someone else and keep the deposit. If you book within six weeks of arrival, the full price is due straight away.
B3. What's included
Each trip page lists what's included, the minimum number of guests and the date by which we confirm the trip. We take care of you from check-in on arrival day until check-out on the last day. Getting there and back is up to you. If we pick you up at the airport, that's a courtesy we can't guarantee.
B4. Who can join
Guests must be 18 or older and meet the requirements of the courses we play. If a course doesn't let you play for that reason, the price stays the same.
B5. Rooms
If you book a shared room, we'll pair you with your room partner.
B6. If you can't make it
Plans change, we understand that.
More than six weeks before arrival, you can move your booking once, free of charge, to another Recent Golf trip within twelve months, subject to availability. A second move costs half the deposit. The deposit itself is not refunded.
Within six weeks of arrival, we can't refund the price.
At any time, you can pass your place to someone else, as long as we agree.
If we fill your place ourselves, you get back what you paid, minus a handling fee. If you can show that we saved more or lost less, we take that into account.
Arriving late, leaving early or missing the trip because of strikes, weather or cancelled flights doesn't change the price, since travel there and back is up to you.
B7. If we have to cancel
If we don't reach the minimum number of guests, we let you know at least six weeks before arrival. Whenever we cancel, for whatever reason, you choose between a full refund and a move to another trip. We don't cover other costs, like flights, unless we are liable under A7.
B8. Changes
Weather, courses and partners sometimes change plans. We may swap a course, the accommodation or part of the programme for something equivalent. If a change is significant, you can cancel free of charge and get a full refund.
B9. Insurance
Please take out travel insurance that covers cancellations. You'll also need health insurance that covers treatment abroad and transport home, as well as personal liability insurance.
B10. Food
Tell us about dietary needs and allergies when you book, so the kitchens can plan for you. Our privacy policy explains how we handle this.
B11. Package travel
We run our trips occasionally, for a small group of people and not for profit. The legal rules on package travel (§§ 651a ff. BGB), including their insolvency protection, therefore don't apply. Keep this in mind when you choose your travel insurance.
Part C: Events
C1. Tickets
Events are by invitation, and you pay the full ticket price when you book. If you'd like to bring someone, just check with us before buying a second ticket.
C2. If you can't make it
Cancel up to 14 days before the event and you get your money back. After that, we can't refund the ticket, but you can pass it on to someone we agree to.
C3. Withdrawal
Event tickets for a fixed date have no statutory right of withdrawal (§ 312g (2) no. 9 BGB). C2 applies instead.
C4. Weather
If the weather forces us to cancel or postpone, we find a new date. If that date doesn't work for you, you get a full refund.
C5. If we cancel
If we cancel for any other reason, you get a full refund.
C6. Programme
The event page shows the programme and what's included. Times or venues may shift a little. A5 to A7 apply to events too.
Part D: Shop
D1. Ordering
What you see in our shop isn't yet a binding offer. When you click "Buy now", you place a binding order, and we confirm receipt by email. The purchase is complete once we confirm the order or ship it.
D2. Delivery
We ship within the European Union, except Malta and Cyprus. Shipping costs depend on the product and destination and are shown at checkout. In Germany, items in stock usually arrive within 5–7 working days. Elsewhere it can take a little longer.
D3. Pre-orders
Some pieces are made in small runs and sold as pre-orders. The product page tells you when to expect them. You pay when you order.
D4. Warranty
If something is faulty, the statutory warranty rights apply.
D5. Returns
You can withdraw from your purchase within 14 days, as explained below. If you do, you cover the cost of sending the goods back.
Right of Withdrawal (Shop)
Changed your mind? You can send shop items back within 14 days. The text below is the official standard wording, which is why it sounds more formal than the rest.
Right of withdrawal
You have the right to withdraw from this contract within fourteen days without giving any reason.
The withdrawal period will expire after fourteen days from the day on which you, or a third party other than the carrier indicated by you, acquire physical possession of the goods. If you ordered several goods in one order that are delivered separately, the period starts on the day you acquire physical possession of the last item.
To exercise the right of withdrawal, you must inform us (Recent Golf GbR, Niemetzstr. 47/49, 12055 Berlin, Germany, phone +49 1514 0365389, email connect@recent.golf) of your decision to withdraw from this contract by an unequivocal statement, for example a letter sent by post or an email. You may use the model withdrawal form below, but it is not obligatory.
To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your communication concerning your exercise of the right of withdrawal before the withdrawal period has expired.
Effects of withdrawal
If you withdraw from this contract, we shall reimburse to you all payments received from you, including the costs of delivery (with the exception of the supplementary costs resulting from your choice of a type of delivery other than the least expensive type of standard delivery offered by us), without undue delay and in any event not later than fourteen days from the day on which we are informed about your decision to withdraw from this contract. We will carry out such reimbursement using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise. In any event, you will not incur any fees as a result of such reimbursement. We may withhold reimbursement until we have received the goods back or you have supplied evidence of having sent back the goods, whichever is the earliest.
You shall send back the goods or hand them over to us without undue delay and in any event not later than fourteen days from the day on which you communicate your withdrawal from this contract to us. The deadline is met if you send back the goods before the period of fourteen days has expired. You will have to bear the direct cost of returning the goods. You are only liable for any diminished value of the goods resulting from handling other than what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods.
